Early Rock Bands free essay sample

One of the most Influential genres, or sub genres, Is about a 50/50 flip between folk rock and Jazz rock. Both Incorporate amazing rock beats and tones, (and awesome guitar riffs), as well as a bridge between two other completely separate genres. I also find It hard to categorize a band into one specific genre. So many bands have so many songs that could be put into a different category. So while Johnny Cash could be a country artists or rockabilly, and even in some of his more recent covers, I would see him as a rock musician. Folk rock brought the always-classic Bob Dylan, Sonny and Cheer, and Simon and Garfield.Further down the line I would lump bands like the Eagles, Lanyard Snared, Alabama and Little Feat. It bridges the gap between rock and country/western music. Even some of the modern country music today sounds farther and farther from actual country music. It kept the soul of rock alive. A much more passionate genre, jazz rock, or jazz fusion, allowed much more freedom in writing and singing music. While a song may be written one way, while playing it was perfectly acceptable to throw in long guitar riffs, a few more lyrics, and anything else hat one may be feeling at the time.Artists like Carols Santa, Louis Banks, Frank Kappa, and Jeff Beck each had their own signature style, yet were all considered jazz rock musicians. As mentioned, this sub-genre was also a bridge to jazz, and the blues. For example, Steve Ray Vaughn, one of my ALL TIME FAVORITES, is a little blues, but it could never be said that he didnt have soul. And so many more artists to follow. I have a lot of respect for the keyboardists like Louis Banks and Herein Hancock. From a pianists point of view, jazz piano is one of the hardest styles to play in!Alone, a jazz chord sounds just all wrong; playing them together is very difficult. And then to sing at the same time? Just so much talent! Also see jazz rock alive and well today. Maybe with a different twist, but I feel that is what keeps it alive is the soul and passion that goes into it. All in all, the genres covered in this lesson think are all bridges to another dominant genus, therefore creating more styles of music and the option to be free. While the other categories have an enormous amount of influential artists, see these two as being the most influential today as well as then.
